Vertti Virkajärvi is a director graduated from Raindance Postgraduate Program (London, UK). During his studies he focused on using improvisational techniques in directing actors and explored naturalist film movements. His graduation film, Stand Up (2017), was premiered at the Raindance Film Festival (UK) in 2017 and ended it's extended festival circuit at the famous Nevada City Film Festival (USA) in 2019.
After Raindance, he's been directing and producing commercial films in Finland, UK and USA. Currently he's developing he's first feature film. He also co-produced a feature film Sound of Violence (2021) which premiered at the SXSW film festival in 2021. Vertti's known for his character driven projects, which are visually stunning, but intimate at the same time.
Vertti Virkajärvi has directed music videos for the Finnish top tier bands and artists, such as Blind Channel, The Rasmus and Paula Vesala.
